Alexis Héroult emploie des objets usés, des rebuts, des matériaux sans valeurs, qui se révèlent par les moyens de la gravure. Parmi les matériaux privilégiés, on décèle la présence du verre, celui de nos écrans, le plastique de nos trottoirs, le bois de nos foyers. A travers les procédés d’impressions émergent des récits, des éclats fragiles de ce qui a vécu, de ce qui persiste, des paysages parcourus.Ici le geste de l’artiste s’apparente à celui de l’archéologue : faire témoigner la matière, donner à lire les marques et les signes du temps autour de nous. Alexis Héroult associe un parcours professoral avec des projets scénographiques et artistiques. Il cofonde notemment le duo Trottoir Notoire avec Cécile Massou destiné à promouvoir les œuvres invisibilisées.
